How do I apply for a charity place?
Complete our application form on this page and we’ll be in touch once we’ve reviewed your application. We have a limited number of charity places, so we encourage you to apply early.
What if I already have a ballot place?
We’d still love to have you on the team! There’s no minimum fundraising pledge for ballot runners, we just ask you to raise what you can. Email us at fundraising@savetherhino.org and we’ll get you set up.
What's the minimum fundraising pledge?
What’s the registration fee?
There is a £30 registration fee, payable when your place is confirmed. This is not included in your minimum fundraising pledge.
What support will I receive?
You'll get a dedicated fundraising page, a fundraising pack full of ideas, a Protein Rebel nutrition pack, regular email updates and hands-on support from our fundraising team throughout your journey. We'll be with you every step of the way.
What if I don’t reach my fundraising target?
Please don’t worry, we’re here to help you with ideas, resources and support throughout your journey. Many of our runners find that donations pick up significantly in the final weeks and especially around half marathon weekend. Around 25% of donations come in during the weekend itself and up to two weeks after.
Can I run in a rhino costume?
Yes! Running in one of our iconic rhino costumes is an unforgettable experience. The costume weighs up to 10kg and the fundraising pledge for costume runners is £500. We’ll help you prepare with a fitting at our London office and tips for training with the extra weight. You can even personalise your costume with a name. We do have limited costumes so please do let us know as soon as you register.
How do I fundraise online?
Once you have registered and paid your £100 registration fee, a fundraising page is automatically created for you through our Funraisin platform. This is linked to the team page, making it easy for your supporters to find you and donate. When you sign up on the Royal Parks Half Marathon console, they will create a fundraising page for you on Enthuse. Please DO NOT use this page. Our preferred platform where our entire team sits is Funraisin.
How do I pay in offline donations?
If you’ve received cash or cheque donations, please don’t send cash in the post. You can pay in offline donations by banking the money yourself and then adding it to your fundraising page using a debit or credit card, or by transferring it directly to our bank account. Get in touch with us at fundraising@savetherhino.org and we’ll give you all the details you need.
Can my fundraising go to a specific project?
The money you raise will go to where it’s needed most, allowing us to make the biggest possible difference for rhinos.
What are donations spent on?
Your fundraising supports ranger training and equipment, habitat conservation, community education programmes, efforts to tackle the illegal wildlife trade and much more. You can find out more about how we spend money and read our annual reports on our website.

Do I need to be an experienced runner?
Not at all! We welcome runners of all abilities and experience levels. Whether it’s your first marathon or your fiftieth, we’ll support you throughout your journey.
Will I receive anything for fundraising?
When you raise £100, we’ll send you an exclusive Save the Rhino running t-shirt. It’s our way of saying thank you and it’s perfect for wearing on half marathon day so your supporters can spot you in the crowd!
Who can I contact for more information?
We're here to help with anything you need, whether it's a question about your fundraising page, race day logistics, or just a pep talk before the big day. Our fundraising team loves nothing more than helping our runners have a brilliant time while smashing their goals. Drop us a line and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.
