Help me run for rhinos! 🦏

Hey there!

I’m Leanne, part of the 2027 London Marathon herd (or “crash”, if you prefer the correct collective noun🦏). I'm taking on this challenge to raise money for Save the Rhino International. A cause very close to my South African heart.❤️

HOW YOUR DONATION HELPS

Right now, three of the five rhino species face an extremely high risk of extinction. The awful rise of poaching, habitat loss and the climate crisis are decimating the population. Rhino poaching doesn't just harm rhinos though. It exploits vulnerable communities, fuels organised crime, and puts at risk the local jobs and livelihoods that depend on wildlife and tourism.

Save the Rhino International is working towards a future where all five rhino species can thrive. By sponsoring me, you're directly helping to:

• Provide kit, training and support for anti-poaching and rhino monitoring teams.

• Empower communities living alongside rhinos to become the next generation of wildlife conservationists.

• Disrupt the criminal networks behind the illegal rhino horn trade.

WHY THIS CAUSE MATTERS TO ME

I spent nearly every school holiday in the bush (“safari” for my European friends!) where some of my favourite childhood memories were made. I still remember my dad always quizzing my siblings and me on how to tell the difference between black and white rhinos whenever we were lucky enough to spot one of them. It's heartbreaking to think that future generations may never see these majestic creatures in the wild..

So.. if running 42.2km in a hot, sweaty rhino suit helps make even a small difference, I'm all in!! 🏃🏼‍♀️

A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY..

Even a small donation makes a real difference. £5 can help fund a ranger's daily equipment. £30 can support a full day of rhino monitoring. 

Every pound helps protect not only rhinos, but also the brave rangers risking their lives on the front line and the communities that depend on them.
