The Great North Run, the world’s largest half marathon, returns to Newcastle in September 2026, and we’re excited to be part of it once again!
Known for its vibrant atmosphere, lively entertainment, and the unforgettable 13.1 mile journey filled with Geordie spirit, this event raises millions for charities every year. Save the Rhino International is proud to be one of those incredible causes, and we’re looking for passionate runners to join our 2026 team!

This is what your fundraising makes possible
Every pound you raise goes towards conserving rhinos, protecting habitats and supporting the people at the heart of rhino conservation. Here are some of the highlights our supporters helped achieve in 2025.
- 10 Sumatran rhinos provided with food and veterinary support at the Sumatran Rhino Sanctuary
- 6 months of fuel provided for North Luangwa's Rhino Monitoring Unit
- 6 dogs from canine units provided with veterinary care, food, equipment and training
- 4 field ranger camps refurbished at uMkhuze Game Reserve
- 706 school children and 41 teachers took part in educational field trips to Borana Conservancy
- 2,500+ rangers received life insurance cover across Africa
